       Blood-good Japanese maple
this is an existing blood-good that I bought as the first thing when I moved to my house. It gets too much sun though than it needs as a result its color is only strong during spring. More shade would do it good,

I have since moved it to a more shaded place. Again, not enough sun seems to be producing same results.

Corral Bark Japanese Maple

This is its fall color. I bought this tree this summer (2011) and was planted earlier this fall. I love Japanese Maples in general and this is one of the best!

It has since moved to the backyard to my shade garden. It does not seem to be bothered by the move but it is also not growing as much I thought it would.

This is the view of the same tree from my driveway

Deodar Cedar

Maples
below is a picture of my maples before landscape started. I also have another one on the other side of the driveway

After the landscape (Fall Color)
I love the bloom color of my trees. I still don't know exactly what type of red maple are my trees.

White Flowering Dogwood
I've wanted these trees forever! Every spring they grace our area and I especially love them when they are flowering in spring.  I just planted this in October of 2011. I should have beautiful blooms in spring!
I had to have one or two :)
Pink Flowering Dogwood

Peach Tree
Who does not want a fruit tree in their backyard. This was supposed to be a red delicious tree but because I did not look carefully I just grabbed a fruit tree that had a picture of a fruit that looked like red delicious apple. Low and behold, a year later, we realized it was a peach tree! It survived the landscape project even though it sat with its roots exposed.

What a nice surprise this is! I did not know that peach trees bloom so beautifully! When I saw my blooms I was pleasantly surprise.

I found a fully grown one online
Pink Flowering Purple Leaf Plum (Thundercloud)
I am looking forward to spring! I can see this tree from my kitchen window. It will be a constant reminder that it is time for me to smile because spring is here!

Oak trees
from my back yard before landscape project started. Around the two front ones I have created planting beds with stone. They were beautiful then but now they look even better. You probably can see why we needed the dry creek. There was a trough that became muddy for days after it rained. Our dog especially loved to dip his paws then come running with his tail wagging into the house. To remedy this I put in a dry creek.

These planting beds are not nearly close to being finished. I just planted a few shade plants (hosta and fans) that I moved from the front yard. I still have some plants that I have to have for this to look finished.

Crape Myrtles
I have a total of 6 crape myrtles. These trees grow easily in our area and they bloom for a long time (Summer to Fall). I have one I uprooted from old house (it was a stray); it has white flowers. I have a red rooster, sweetheart dazzle, dynamite crape myrtle, two pink flowering ones.
Dynamite Crape Myrtle
I am looking forward to its dynamite red blooms. After this, is a picture I found online.

I found this blooming Dynamite crape myrtle online to show you how mine should look when it is done.

Red Rooster
I bought this tree really small but it is already blooming. The one at the top is mine and the one below it I found online. You can see how beautiful the deep red is when it is in full bloom.

Found this mature red rooster online

Sweetheart Dazzle
My sweetheart dazzle is really small right now and it is in front of my two knockouts.it was not blooming when I took this photo but it is also full of blooms (hot pink) when it is in bloom.  Below it is a picture I found online.

Lagerstroemia Indica
Hoping for shade here in this sun-drenched deck. I also have two other ones that are not pictured here; one blooms white. The white one was a seedling from my old house.

Chaste Tree
This tree was blooming when I first saw it. I passed it so many times because it had bumble bees buzzing on it. I thought why should I bring so many bees in my yard but I realized something: while I was busy shopping they were busy enjoying nectar and not mind me. It is also a long sometime bloomer. Right now it is bare because it is a deciduous tree.

Below is a mature version of the same tree
